Fairly Honest Jazz Band is a four-horn, four-rhythm little big band with
a huge library. The repertoire includes modern arrangements of standard
tunes with some rock, funk, blues and Dixie to keep things interesting.
They may feature vocalists, and frequently open up arrangements for extended
soloing. They use a number of arrangers, including Dave Wolpe, Bob Eberhardt,
and local talent.
The Fairly Honest Jazz Band has the best collection of talented, fun musicians
to hang out with anywhere around, and audiences notice that too. Horns
are trumpet and flugel (Steve Mraz), alto sax (Jon Krueger, with lots
of bari doubles, a little soprano and clarinet when he can sneak it in)
tenor sax, (John Anderson) and trombone (Bert Bertram, quite a showman,
and he sings too). Hans Brehmer is on piano and vocals, Brad Buck on guitar,
Martin Rush on bass and Brad Stoll on drums.
